In China, many third-party suppliers are unable or unwilling to manage this process, as VAT refunds can take up to nine months to be returned. As a result, they often increase their prices or compromise on product quality, since they do not qualify for export tax rebates. This not only leads to unnecessary costs but also represents money that could be used more effectively elsewhere in your project or business.

It’s possible to have a trademark or logo embossed or debossed on a glass bottle. Glassrock provides this service at no additional cost, incorporating the design into the initial bottle mold. You just need to open a mold with your own logo.
Embossing involves raising the logo or design above the glass surface, while debossing creates a recessed impression in the glass. Both techniques offer a unique and visually appealing way to enhance your bottle’s design, making it stand out on store shelves.
We can aswell provide personalized labels for further customization as well as closures adapted to the bottle you need.
While glass allows for many design possibilities, not all designs are feasible (unlike ceramic bottles, which offer more creative flexibility). We encourage you to share your idea with us, and we’ll confirm whether it can be done on your custom glass bottle.
Here are some examples of existing customization methods :
Frosting can give the surface a soft, matte texture that feels refined, while color spraying allows for unique hues or gradients that express a brand’s personality. For decoration and branding, silk screen printing, hot stamping, and decal application enable vivid, durable graphics or metallic details directly on the glass. More intricate touches like laser engraving allow for precise personalization or limited-edition markings, and fire polishing perfects the finish with a smooth, glossy sheen. Finally, metal accessories can be integrated for added weight and distinction, completing a design that’s both visually striking and true to the brand’s character.
A sample mold for a bespoke glass bottle can be used as an early step in a client’s bottle-development process. It is a cost-effective way to review their design and adjust it before committing to full production. Costing 800$, a sample mold is only good for few sample pieces.
A production mold is produced only once the final design has been confirmed. This is a full set of production molds that are usable for at least 500,000 mass-produced glass bottles.
It is possible to fit approximately 28,000 standard 700ml glass bottles in a 40HQ (high cube) container assuming that they are packed in cartons on pallets.
For smaller capacity bottles such as beer bottles, that contain often 12 oz (330ml), approximately 66,000 can fit in a 40HQ.
These numbers are only approximation, the number of bottle per container varies between every bottle shape or size, verify the product page for details.
Flint glass is a clear, colorless, and cost-effective glass commonly used in manufacturing bottles, jars, and other containers. It is lead-free and known for its good clarity. Super-flint glass, also called extra-flint glass, has a higher silica content, giving it superior clarity and brilliance compared to standard flint glass.
At GlassRock, super-flint bottles are typically heavier with a deeper base measuring 20-30mm. They are the top choice for premium spirit brands producing vodka, cognac, brandy, and whisky. Additionally, they have a lower minimum order quantity (MOQ) than flint bottles.
The primary difference between the two lies in their silica content and manufacturing process. Super-flint glass’s increased silica results in exceptional clarity, making it ideal for high-end spirits, perfumes, and cosmetics. While it is more expensive to produce due to pricier raw materials and a more complex process, its superior quality offers a valuable investment for products requiring premium packaging.
Like all other bottling plants anywhere in the world; some dust, card shavings or other particulates can enter bottles and they should always be cleaned on your production line prior to filling.
We have the following quality tests:
measuring tests (weight, content, dimensions, etc.)
destructive testing (internal pressure, pendulum swing impact, thermal shock, etc.)
100% inline testing by inspection machines (wall thickness, crack testing, impurity testing, etc.)
QC workman will check the goods randomly during the production
The glass bottles themselves contain no lead or harmful chemicals. GlassRock can have them tested by an independent facility upon request to confirm this. However, the inks used for labels may contain lead and/or chromium to enhance color vibrancy. Since these labels do not come into contact with the food product, regulations do not prohibit their use. If desired, GlassRock can use inks without lead or chromium upon request.
We are ISO 9001 certified manufacturer implented in China with an international management.
Bottles are generally packed either in reusable cardboard boxes with dividers or in bulk on cardboard trays on pallets.
GlassRock provides varying levels of cardboard quality and can custom-print boxes with a client’s corporate or product-specific branding.
Many customers choose this option to reuse the shipping boxes for selling their products. The cost of boxes depends on factors like size, cardboard quality, number of printing colors, and the size of the printed area. Bulk packing helps reduce unit shipping costs by allowing more bottles to be packed in a single container
Starting a 0.1 $ according to their size.

The cost of a mold for glass wine bottles depends on several factors, including whether you need a custom mold or can use an existing one. Custom molds, especially for large-scale production of wine bottles, can be expensive. However, they can also lead to significant cost savings in the long run due to the economies of scale.
If you need a small quantity of wine bottles, it might be more cost-effective to use a liquor bottle mold. However, if you need a specific color like green or brown, the cost will be higher, but it’s often much cheaper to produce these bottles in certain regions like the United States compared to Europe.
If you need you own shape for wine bottles it will require you to open 28 sets of mold with a total cost around 10 000 USD and produce 200 000 bottles at least , it will lead to economy of scale making the bottle unit price 2 to 3 time cheaper than a small quantity glass bottle such as liquor bottle which require only one mold and has a 10 000 pieces MOQ .
The material used for colored wine bottles is often cheaper than high flint transparent liquor bottles also the furnace used is bigger and output much higher .
Standard bottles are not fit to hold pressure but some of our model does , with increased thickness and weight , special bottles can hold pressure and are then suitable for beer , sparkling wine or water.
Here’s the corrected list of wine bottle sizes, including smaller versions, referencing the standard bottle size of 750ml:
Smaller than Standard:
Quarter Bottle: 0.25 times the standard bottle (187.5ml)
20cl Bottle: Approximately 0.27 times the standard bottle (200ml)
Half Bottle: 0.5 times the standard bottle (375ml)
Standard Bottle: 1 times the standard bottle (750ml)
Magnum: 2 times the standard bottle (1.5 liters)
Jeroboam: 4 times the standard bottle (3 liters)
Rehoboam: 6 times the standard bottle (4.5 liters)
Imperial/Methuselah: 8 times the standard bottle (6 liters)
Salmanazar: 12 times the standard bottle (9 liters)
Balthazar: 16 times the standard bottle (12 liters)
Nebuchadnezzar: 20 times the standard bottle (15 liters)
Glass is the primary material used for wine bottles due to its durability, recyclability, and ability to preserve the flavor and aroma of wine.
These colors help protect the wine from light, which can degrade its flavor and create an unpleasant taste.
Wine bottles are typically made by blowing molten glass into a mold. The glass is then annealed to strengthen it and prevent it from breaking.
The standard size for wine bottles is 750 milliliters (25.4 fluid ounces), which is commonly referred to as a “Bordeaux bottle.”
Yes, there are several different types of wine bottles, including:
Bordeaux bottle: The most common type, used for a variety of wines.
Burgundy bottle: Taller and has a more rounded shoulder than a Bordeaux bottle.
Champagne bottle: Stronger and has a thicker base to withstand the pressure of carbonation.
Magnum bottle: Holds twice as much wine as a standard bottle.
Jeroboam bottle: Holds three times as much wine as a standard bottle.
How strong are wine bottles? Wine bottles are designed to be strong and durable, but they can still break if subjected to excessive force or pressure. The thickness of the glass and the quality of the manufacturing process can affect the bottle’s durability.
Can wine bottles explode? While rare, wine bottles can explode under certain conditions, such as when they are subjected to sudden temperature changes or excessive shaking. The pressure inside the bottle can increase, potentially causing it to burst.
What factors can affect the durability of a wine bottle? The quality of the glass, the thickness of the bottle, and the handling and storage conditions can all affect the durability of a wine bottle.
How should wine bottles be stored to prevent breakage? Store wine bottles upright in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Avoid storing them near heat sources or in areas where they may be bumped or knocked over.
What are the safety precautions for handling wine bottles? Handle wine bottles carefully to avoid breakage. Use a wine opener with a sharp blade to prevent the cork from crumbling.
Are wine bottles recyclable? Yes, wine bottles are highly recyclable. Many communities have programs in place to collect and recycle them.
How can I recycle wine bottles? Check with your local recycling program for specific guidelines on how to recycle wine bottles.
What is the environmental impact of wine bottle production and recycling? The environmental impact of wine bottle production and recycling depends on several factors, including the type of glass used, the energy required for manufacturing and transportation, and the efficiency of the recycling process. However, recycling wine bottles generally has a lower environmental impact than other packaging materials like plastic and aluminum.
Are there sustainable alternatives to glass wine bottles? There are some sustainable alternatives to glass wine bottles, such as Tetra Pak cartons and bag-in-box containers. However, glass remains the preferred choice for many wine drinkers due to its durability, recyclability, and ability to preserve the flavor and aroma of wine.
How can I reduce my carbon footprint when consuming wine? You can reduce your carbon footprint by purchasing wine from local producers, choosing wines that come in recyclable packaging, and avoiding wines that have been transported long distances.
- When were glass wine bottles first used? The use of glass bottles for wine dates back centuries. Early glass bottles were often small and irregularly shaped, but over time, technology and manufacturing techniques improved, leading to the development of more standardized and durable bottles.
- How has wine bottle design evolved over time? Wine bottle designs have evolved over time, reflecting changes in technology, consumer preferences, and cultural trends. Some bottles feature simple, minimalist designs, while others are adorned with intricate labels and artwork. Certain bottle shapes and styles may be associated with specific wine regions or grape varieties.
- What are some iconic wine bottle designs? Some iconic wine bottle designs include the Château Lafite Rothschild label, the Dom Pérignon champagne bottle, and the Penfolds Grange bottle.
- Are there any cultural or historical significance to wine bottles? Wine bottles can hold cultural and historical significance. They can be used as collectors’ items, souvenirs, or even as decorative pieces. Some wine bottles may be associated with famous wineries, historical events, or popular culture references.
- What is the role of wine bottles in collecting and memorabilia? Wine bottles can be valuable collectibles, especially if they are rare, limited-edition, or associated with famous wineries or vintages. Wine bottle collectors may also appreciate the historical and cultural significance of certain bottles.

The average pressure required for a typical 5-degree blond lager beer is around 2.5-3 bars. The pressure a beer bottle can withstand depends on its type, closure, temperature, and carbonation level. Generally, bottles can handle 3-6 bars.
Most of our beer bottles can support 4 bars or more, which is designed to handle most beer types. It’s important to know this to prevent explosions, especially for homebrewers. Store bottles in a cool, dark place.
For optimal safety and product integrity:
- Store bottles upright
- Keep them in a cool, dry, shaded environment
- Avoid sudden temperature changes
- Do not expose filled clear bottles to direct sunlight
- Keep pallets protected from impact or compression
The color brown and green being the most common. These colors help protect the beer from light, which can degrade its flavor and create an unpleasant taste. Clear bottles are sometimes used for specialty beers or when the brewer wants to showcase the color of the beer. Beer bottles have been used since the 16th century, but commercial bottling didn’t start until the late 17th century.
Clear glass bottles exposed to sunlight caused beer to turn “skunky” due to a chemical reaction triggered by UV rays. Brown bottles were discovered to shield beer from UV rays.
Green bottles were used during World War II when brown glass was scarce and later became a symbol of status for some breweries.
Blue bottles have been developed to provide a more premium positioning for the breweries.
Modern technology allows clear glass bottles to be coated with UV protectants.
Types: There are several types of beer bottles, each with its own unique characteristics:
- Longneck: This is the most common type of beer bottle, characterized by its tall, slender shape. Longneck bottles are often used for lager and pilsner styles.
- Swing-top: These bottles have a hinged lid that swings open and closed, allowing for easy refilling and resealing. Swing-top bottles are popular for craft beers and specialty brews.
- Stubby: Stubby bottles are shorter and wider than longneck bottles. They are often used for higher-alcohol content beers or for creating a retro or nostalgic feel.
- Growler: Growlers are larger bottles that are typically used for filling beer directly from a brewery tap. They are often made of glass or stainless steel.
